Is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable?


Many of us have this question in mind – Is the tomato a fruit or a vegetable? Of course there are plenty of reasons as to why some of us think of it as a fruit and some may even consider it to be a vegetable. But, who’s right and who’s wrong? In fact, are either of these people wrong? The answer could be a Yes and a No depending on the way you look at it.  So, let’s take a look at it through the eyes of different people.

The Tomato as a fruit

If you consider the actual biological facts, the tomato is surely a fruit and there’s evidence to prove it. First and foremost, the tomato is a product formed on the plant that arises due to the pollination of a flower. What do we call such products? - Fruits right? So, that makes the tomato a fruit.
